Kowloon Markets

On Saturday, we woke up to pouring rain. There was lightning and thunder the night before. We were afraid that we weren't going to be able to explore the Kowloon markets like we had hoped for, but by the afternoon, the rain had stopped and the skies had cleared up.

First stop, the flower market! There is an entire market dedicated to selling flowers.

They had funny premade bouquets where roses were individually wrapped to maintain shape (we think) and assume you would unwrap when you buy it? There was also bouquets that had stuffed animals in them!

Should we buy some flowers for our apartment?

Nah, let's just take some photos of them. The prettiest flower shop was one dedicated to all varieties of orchids. Unfortunately, we weren't able to take any photos in that shop.

At the end of the flower market, you can go into the bird market or bird garden. Within this short strip, there were lots of birds being sold as well as bird enthusiasts showing off their birds.

Cages and cages of birds = smelly street

I was in love with this pink and grey bird!

Dave loved the bird with the skinny neck. We watched this bird make a hole in a man's shirt.

The surprising part of both birds was that they weren't chained down to anything and didn't try to go away!

After the bird market, we walked towards the goldfish market. As you can guess, it was a street lined with stores selling fish and fish products! They were also selling other animals as well.

Fishes were in bags and marked how much they were.

Within Hong Kong, you always see these type of shops that hang the roasted meats on the window for display. Anyone want a duck with it's head still on?
