Ocean Park

Sorry for the delay in posting, but we had visitors and then we went away for a week. We're back in town, but with another visitor so posting won't be daily, but we'll try to catch up!

On one of our sundays in Hong Kong, we had big plans to go to the horse races until we realized that they might not let us enter the place with Taylor. Since the horse races were relatively far away on the MTR, we didn't want to risk it. Instead we decided to head to Ocean Park, which is Hong Kong's amusement park/aquarium/zoo.

Outside the entrance of Ocean Park.

We managed to finally put Taylor in the stroller for a little bit. I'm not sure if she's so excited about it though...

She quickly resisted the stroller and was back in the carrier.

Nemos everywhere!

There was this giant crab in the aquarium and we put Taylor next to it. She was moving too much so we couldn't capture a good picture of her with it, but you can see that the crab's legs are probably as long as Taylor's height!

Taylor loved looking at the fishes or maybe it was the other kids?

Since their is a big panda exhibit at Ocean Park, they even had buns that were decorated like them!

There was an alligator exhibit and a cave next to it. Next the exhibit, there was a cave that had a alligator statue inside it. We decided it would be fun to have Taylor take a photo next to it. Dave brought her inside the cave and at first she was excited. All of a sudden she looked at the alligator, made a little scream and started crying like crazy. We're not sure how she even knew how to be scared of this statue!

Luckily, she cheered up when we went into the panda exhibit. They had workers in the exhibit that kept trying to have people be quiet, but you can't really quiet down an excited baby. =)

There were 2 pandas in the exhibit and one was happily munching away on food, while the other was wandering around.

Taylor loved the pandas so much that we bought the walking stuffed animal for her to play with.

There was a bunch of strange goldfish on display. Here's one that looks like their brains are floating on top!

We went to a seal show and surprisingly Taylor was interested! But this interest was short lived and we eventually had to leave early.

Taylor likes this statue a lot happier than the alligator.

After we explored the bottom park, we took a cable car to the other part of the park!

Alda and Dave on the cable car.

In the distance, you can see the other parts of the park.

Taylor was passed out on the way up to the top!

The park had great views of the park, but Taylor missed seeing them.

At the top, there was a display of sea jellies that they tried to make look bigger with lots of different mirrors and lights, but it's not as good as the Monterey Bay aquarium display.

Besides the alligator incident, another unfortunate thing that happened with Taylor. She had fallen asleep in the carrier for a nap like she does whenever we travel. When we took the cable car down, we took her out of the carrier and realized her diaper had leaked. At first, I thought it was just sweat, but it was actually a diaper leak. Her clothes had gotten wet as well as my clothes! We had a change of clothes for Taylor, but nothing for me, so I had to wait until we went home to change. The sad part was that the diaper wasn't even completely full, so just a faulty diaper. Because of this incident, I've recruited some people visiting to bring diapers from the US in hopes that it doesn't happen again. I don't want any more diaper leaks on me!
