Finally an update!

Wow, can you believe 3 weeks have already gone by? It turns out this parenting thing doesn't allow for much time to update blogs!

So what have we been up to since Taylor came home from the hospital? A lot!

The first 2 days were a blur - Taylor changed from her mostly-sleep schedule at the hospital to being more awake, hungrier, and crankier.

We didn't get much sleep those first few nights as we tried to figure out why she was crying. We tried everything - breastfed her, changed her diaper, held her, put her down, swaddled her, unswaddled her, put on the sleep sheep (white noise), put her in the crib, put her in the pack-n-play, bounced her, sang to her. Nothing seemed to get her to go to sleep! Finally, we decided to try feeding her some formula. Turns out, that was the trick! She was just hungry all along and mom's milk supply hadn't come in yet. Once we gave her a little bit of formula, she fell fast asleep. Victory was ours!

After the first few nights, we started to get the hang of it. Taylor is a very good baby in that she only cries when she's hungry. That means we know that whenever she cries, she wants to eat!

We took her to the pediatricians office for her first doctor's visit. She only lost 3 ounces, which is great (most babies lose 10% of their birthweight).

We took her out on her first outing - here she is at Jamba Juice!

She did her first tummy time...

...and had her first sponge bath (mommy is looking for a poop!)

She went on her first walk...

...and had her first play date (she slept through the whole thing)

She had her first thanksgiving, where Denise finally got to play the Kinect!

She got to meet new friends.

Her grandparents came to visit.

Her umbilical cord finally fell off!

She found a new favorite sleeping pose...

...and she had her first real bath!

This all made her very tired!
